How To Lead Your Practice in a Trauma Informed Way
2-Hour Interactive Workshop
This practical workshop explores how attachment-based trauma influences parenting, relationships and engagement with professionals, while equipping practitioners with practical strategies to respond in ways that promote safety, trust and the capacity for change.
Being trauma-informed means understanding the impact of trauma. Being trauma-responsive means allowing that understanding to shape every interaction, assessment and intervention. This practical workshop explores how attachment-based trauma influences parenting, relationships and engagement with professionals, while equipping practitioners with practical strategies to respond in ways that promote safety, trust and the capacity for change. Drawing on attachment theory, neuroscience and relationship-based practice, participants will develop a deeper understanding of how unresolved childhood trauma can continue to influence behaviour throughout adulthood and how practitioners can adapt their practice to improve outcomes for families.
Through discussion, reflective exercises and practical examples, practitioners will learn how to recognise trauma responses, understand what may be driving challenging behaviours, and build relationships that foster trust, engagement and lasting change.
Feedback
“Alice’s session refreshed some of my knowledge around trauma, it made me want to ensure I was asking the why question in supervision.”
“This was a brilliant session, it made me reframe my family’s behaviour and also made me reflect on my own trauma-responses when dealing with families. The section about hypo-arousal was really interesting as I have been guilty of seeing parents as ‘flat’.”
“Dr Loving inspired me to push my local authority into being more trauma responsive and not just informed”.
“Fantastic session that left me wanting more. I will definitely be following Alice on social media to learn more of her content as it is really insightful and central to our work with children and families.”
