Fostering Training
From Trauma to Trust: Supporting Attachment-Driven Behaviour
A specialist two-day training for foster carers and residential staff
This specialist two-day training helps foster carers develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to see beyond behaviour and build secure, healing relationships.
Children who have experienced attachment trauma often communicate their needs through behaviours that can be difficult to understand and respond to. This specialist two-day training helps foster carers develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to see beyond behaviour and build secure, healing relationships.
Grounded in attachment theory, trauma-informed practice and the Secure Base Model, the training explores how early experiences shape children’s emotional development, coping strategies and relationships. Through a combination of expert teaching, lived experience, reflective discussion and realistic case studies, carers learn practical approaches they can immediately apply in their everyday care.
Delivered by parenting specialist Dr Alice Loving alongside lived experience trauma trainer Ethan St Pierre, the course combines research, clinical expertise and authentic personal insight to create an engaging and highly practical learning experience.
By the end of the programme, carers will have a deeper understanding of attachment-driven behaviour, increased confidence in responding to complex emotional needs, and practical relational strategies that promote placement stability, and positive outcomes for children.
